JGCAP - LLBA Youth Bowfishing Day

The Youth Bowfishing Day is an opportunity for kids to participate in one of the fastest growing, environmentally friendly archery activities. The JGCAP and the Land of Lakes Bowfishing Association will be teaming up to provide equipment, instruction and boat transportation for a great day of fast paced action. We will bowfishing on Rice Lake, one of the Chain of Lakes near Centerville, for Asian Carp, an invasive species of fish threatening to take over Minnesota waterways.

The event is held the first Saturday in May each year. The cost for participation is $25.00, which includes the round trip transportation to Rice Lake from John Glenn Middle School, use of equipment, snacks and drinks while on the boat, instruction, and boat transportation. Youth participating must dress for the weather, we will go rain or shine. Scholarships are available.

See the Bowfishing Calendar for exact dates and times or contact Travis Stewart on the contacts page for more information.
